HTC Knight hits Best Buy's system with PG0610 model name

We've already seen what's purported to be the HTC Knight show up in Sprint's database under the guise of the HTC A7373, and we now have yet another model name thrown into the mix courtesy of this supposedly legitimate shot of Best Buy's data transfer system. As you can see, what's clearly labeled as the HTC Knight is now sporting the PG0610 designation (previously seen at the FCC), and it's chilling alongside the HTC EVO 4G, which certainly makes sense -- although it's less clear what the ancient HTC Apache is doing there. For those that haven't been keeping track, this is the same phone that's also been known as the EVO Shift 4G and the Speedy, one of which may or may not be the device's actual name when it's finally, officially launched -- hopefully at CES next month.

Indestructible Mobile Home Keeps Out Mad Max, Zombies

This portable, steel-clad shed might look like a render from your favorite post-apocalyptic first-person-shooter, but it is terrifyingly real. Designed and built by Dutch designer Joep van Lieshout, the Vostok Cabin is currently on show in Paris, at La Cité des Sciences. The hut is as minimal as it is creepy. The only amenities are a [...]

¿Y a ti? ¿Qué te parece todo esto?

Nexus One's Android 2.3 Gingerbread update promised 'in the coming weeks'

Nexus One with Gingerbread

OMG! The Nexus One will get its over-the-air Gingerbread update in a few weeks, according to the GoogleNexus Twitter account. In a few weeks?!?!? That means we should repeatedly hit the software update button starting now, right? RIGHT?!?!

We know, we know. Patience is not your strong suit. But an interesting thing happened as the Android 2.3 code was released last week: Google said the AOSP code can't just be compiled and slapped into a working build for the Nexus One and the Nexus S. Of course, that didn't stop anybody, and we've had builds running since last Friday night -- and some of them are getting pretty darn good. But let's give the boys and girls at Google a little time to get things right (and, perhaps, enjoy their holidays?) before pushing anymore code, m'kay? [Twitter]

Fiabee releases companion apps to share, sync files between Chrome and Android

Fiabee is a relative newcomer to the cloud-to-mobile storage game, having only released its iOS app [iTunes link] back in June. The company has now begun focusing on Google's platforms and has made beta versions of the Fiabee app available for Android devices and Google Chrome.

The Fiabee Chrome app is no bookmark -- it's an extension app (all its HTML, JavaScript, CSS, images, and fonts are stored on your system) that provides a much different experience from the Fiabee website. Install the app and create an account, and you're given 1GB of cloud storage which you can use to share files from your desktop Chrome browser to your Android handset. Open your favorite file management app, find the file you want to upload, and then drag it on to the appropriate drop zone -- the blue box saves it to your cloud storage, while the green box takes the additional step of notifying your Android device that a new transfer is available.

Cyberduck brings FTP, WebDAV, S3, and Google Docs transfers to Windows

Cyberduck has long been a favorite app of Mac owners, and with good reason. The free, open source app is a powerful way to transfer files between your desktop and the cloud, supporting FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3, Google Docs, Windows Azure, and more. Now, Cyberduck has finally arrived on Windows.

The release of version 4.0 beta packs the same great features as the Mac version, including SCP, multiple encryption types and full-featured SSH support. Cyberduck can also remotely expand files that have been compressed using TAR or ZIP. If that's not enough, how about bookmark support, synchronization, transfer previews, a built-in file previewer, and Growl support? Want to edit a file in your Google Docs using Word on your laptop? Right click it in Cyberduck, open it with Word, save, close, and Cyberduck automatically uploads your changes.

Be prepared for a bit of a lengthy install, however. Cyberduck requires the .NET 4.0 Framework, and it also loads Bonjour during setup. Still, if you do a lot of work with files on a wide variety of remote servers, Cyberduck is an excellent application for managing your upload and download chores.

Even if you don't do a lot of cloud files transfers, it's almost worth installing Cyberduck so that you can pin the jolly little duck to your taskbar. Rubber ducky, you're the one... You make cloud uploads so much fun...

Ke$ha Says Rihanna 'Meant Absolutely No Offense'

'I'm so used to the media flipping my words around,' singer tells Complex.

Pop-star rivalry has been around for years. Whether it was Britney vs. Christina or Mariah vs. Whitney, there's always been an underlying competition between your favorite female pop singers. But don't expect any animosity between today's stars, at least not from Ke$ha.

The wilding-out singer, who's the latest Complex cover girl, spoke with the magazine about her pop-star peers, including Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.

"I actually think that's cool," the singer said of the female stars she's being compared to. "Out of that group of chicks, I'm the new bitch on the block, so I'm still getting used to being compared to some of the biggest pop stars in the world, but I don't take any offense to it. That just means people know my records."

Earlier this year, Ke$ha teamed up with Rihanna for the Barbadian bombshell's girl-power trek, the Last Girl on Earth Tour. Despite the duo's pairing, the blogosphere went into a fury when Rihanna recently revealed that she "didn't want the generic pop record that Ke$ha or Lady Gaga or Katy Perry could do."

The party-loving pop star admitted that she hadn't even read the quote, suggesting that the media may have taken Rih's comments out of context.

"I'm so used to the media flipping my words around that I'm sure she meant absolutely no offense to me or Katy or Gaga," said the singer. "Rihanna and me are totally cool, we were just on tour together, and I know that she and Katy are good friends. I don't take any offense because I'm sure it's bullsh-- anyway."

Based on the garbage-bag ensemble she wore to this year's MTV Video Music Awards, it seems that Ke$ha could care less about other people's opinions. "I was trying to look super-hot," she said. "I like to poke fun at when people make fun of me, because I don't take myself that seriously. People say I'm 'garbage chic,' so I thought I'd take it to the next level and make a garbage bag super f---ing chic — and I succeeded!"

As for now, the singer is focusing on her recently released Cannibal, a companion album to her debut, Animal.

Do you think there's competition between any of today's pop stars? Share your thoughts below!

Open the floodgates! It's Mega-Release Week, with Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, Ke$ha, My Chemical Romance and Lloyd Banks all dropping new albums. Stick with MTV News for everything you need to know about the brand-new music.

NavFree launches free US iPhone navigation app with offline map data

There's no shortage of iPhone navigation apps out there, but we can't say we've seen too many that come with 1.6GB of offline map data -- especially for free. That's the hook for NavFree USA, which just went live in the App Store -- sure, it also has some interesting social features like crowdsourced map updates and navigating to friends, and you can buy add-ons like traffic and speed camera info, but we think most people will use the free turn-by-turn and call it a day. That is, until Apple builds navigation directly into the OS. PR after the break.

Update: Commenter marklarson just pointed out the hilariously misguided compass icon in the upper left there, and now we are downloading this app just to look at it whenever we need to be cheered up.
