Zombie Bites is a gory retro platformer -- Time Waster

zombiebites
So, you're a zombie. And you're hungry, and you're all pixelated. You're going to stay pixelated and retro-looking, at least on this game. But you don't have to stay hungry: In Zombie Bites, you run around the level, finding humans. As soon as you touch a human and press SPACE, you attack. Your energy bar fills up a bit, but not so much. You must keep running and jumping in search of more humans you can eat.

"What's the problem?", I hear you say, "That screenshot is full of humans". No it's not - those are zombies! As we've all learned in science class, once a zombie bites a human, the human turns into a zombie. And that's exactly what happens in Zombie Bites, so you find yourself running around the level searching for the few remaining humans amongst a growing horde of zombies, which are busy biting those same humans you're trying to catch. Hectic!

It's not exactly an epic quest, but it's a cute game, especially if you're into zombies. The 8-bit style makes the gore seem kind of fetching, really.

Beyonce Working With Kanye West Producer S1

'Power' producer tweets he's 'finishing up some monsters' after week in the studio with B.
By James Montgomery

Beyoncé's already taken inspiration from the likes of Michael Jackson and Lauryn Hill, hit the studio with a list of producers that includes Ne-Yo, Sean Garrett and Jim Jonsin, and now, she's hoping to capture the surge of Kanye West's "Power."

B — who's already hard at work on the follow-up to her massive I Am ... Sasha Fierce album — just wrapped a week in the studio with producer S1, the man who co-produced "Power" and has logged time with the likes of Ghostface Killah and Erykah Badu.

S1 broke the news via his Twitter account and also posted a photo of himself and B over on his official site. And from the sound of things, the sessions, which took place in New York City, were definitely eventful.

"A couple of meetings then back in the lab with Beyonce today," he wrote in one tweet. "Excited to see what we're gonna create today after last night's session.

"Not going to bed anytime soon. Beyonce got us in here working and I'm loving every bit of it," he wrote in another post. "Finishing up some monsters ... everything is sounding really great and big!"

There's still not much information about Beyoncé's new album, though in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" last year, she said that, this time out, she's aiming to "make [her] own genre of music." In a follow-up interview with MTV News, she clarified that statement, explaining that she's "mixing every type of genre that I love" on the new album, and added, "I'm not in a box. It's not R&B. It's not typically pop. It's not rock. It's just everything I love all mixed together in my own little gumbo of music."

What do you think S1's work with Beyoncé will sound like? Tell us in the comments!

Motorola Atrix 4G gets FCC approval

Motorola files dozens upon dozens of FCC certifications a year, so what makes us so sure this here IHD-P56LS1 is the might Atrix 4G for AT&T? Fair question: for one thing, it's got 850 and 1900MHz 3G (or 4G, in AT&T parlance). Furthermore, it's approved for 5GHz 802.11n WiFi, which is extraordinarily rare for a phone -- and it was a feature Moto was sure to pimp during the Atrix's CES unveiling. Oh, and finally, it's identified in the filing as model number MB860, which would be the Atrix's model number. So yeah, there's one more checkmark to tick off prior to release... which hopefully won't be too much longer, because we're seriously jonesing to do some laptop docking.

T-Mobile USA talks future, Deutsche Telekom weaning it off lifeline; Clearwire spectrum purchase still in play?

Germany's Deutsche Telekom -- better known in the States as T-Mobile USA's disciplinarian parent -- was out in New York today chatting up its American division's prospects for the future, and execs from both sides of the pond had quite a bit to say. The biggest outstanding concerns for the carrier revolve around revenue and customer churn -- which, let's be honest, are the core benchmarks that any carrier in the world is looking to improve -- and the division's CEO Philipp Humm just announced a series of initiatives to help get those numbers in line. On the churn side, they're "going big with Android" to combat the iPhone, continuing to roll out WiFi calling to alleviate network coverage issues, and tightening up "risk management" issues that have let some bill deadbeats slip through the cracks. Funny to think that non-payment is a big enough issue to be a revenue risk for these guys, but it's true.

Verizon appeals FCC's net neutrality rules

Verizon's gone to the US Court of Appeals in Washington, DC today to officially take issue with the net neutrality policy that the FCC laid out in the waning moments of 2010, saying that it's "deeply concerned by the FCC's assertion of broad authority for sweeping new regulation of broadband networks and the Internet itself." The company's extremely brief press release on the matter doesn't detail where their issues lie, specifically, but they'd said back in December that they had concerns, so the move doesn't come as a terribly big surprise. If we had to guess, the no-blocking rules surrounding wireless networks are certainly high on that list of concerns -- Verizon and others have long said that wireless needs to be left largely out of the net neutrality debate -- but we won't know until we're able to dig into the court case. Follow the break for the press release.
